Game Recap: Boys Lacrosse

H-W Moves to 2-0

April 5, 2017

Hamilton-Wenham won their second straight road game, defeating Woburn 11-10 to open the season at 2-0. Woburn controlled play early, leading 2-1 after the first quarter.

The Generals battled back, led by senior midfielder Joe Lattanzi (3G) and junior attackman Andrew Riccio(6G and 2A). Lattanzi netted the game winner with under 3 minutes to play in the game, and H-W was able to survive one last late scare by Woburn and run out the clock.

The Generals also had goals from junior midfielder Thomas Lattanzi and sophomore attackman Aidan Daly, and got great face-off play from sophomore Sam Webber and senior Quinn Moloney.

H-W was led defensively by junior Zane Clark and senior Bradley Caccivio. Despite missing some key players on defense, backup sophomore goalie Evan Bucci, junior defensemen Eli Grigorian, and freshman longstick midfielder Colby Cala stepped up to help secure the win.

Hamilton-Wenham will be looking for their first 3-0 start in at least 12 seasons on Saturday when they play at St. John's Prep against south shore foe Norwell High School. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
